Returned after 18 years of missing

Jaycee Lee Dugard was abducted from South Lake Tahoe when she was 11, and has turned up 18 years later. She was hidden from the world behind fences and tents, and has mothered two of her abducters children. I am so glad that the child is alive, but Senator Edward Kennedy has passed away, and thousands of mourners are expected to pay their final respects to Kennedy on Friday as his body lies in repose at the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum. Well, I don't know if we can expect anything major from Tropicl Storm Danny, who forcasters say has weakened over the Atlantic and is barely a tropical storm. I can understand how Michael Jackson became so weak, the first search of Michael Jackson's bedroom a day after his death found marijuana, skin-bleaching and hair-growing ointments, anti-insomnia pills and empty bottles of several anti-anxiety drugs, according to court documents. This next thing isn't as weak; at least six structures have been destroyed and hundreds of homes are being threatened by a fast-moving brush fire in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Well, Al Qaeda wants to make sure they are not destroyed. Al Qaeda's second-in-command called on Pakistanis to back Islamic militants in the country's tribal areas against what he called an ongoing assault by American "crusaders" and the Pakistani army.

Police question a woman they believe to have helped reality TV star, Ryan Jenkins check into a motel, in Canada, where he later took his life. Jenkins had been accused of the murder of model Jasmine Fiore, and shortly after escaped to Canada. Canadian police say that the woman could face charges of helping Jenkins cross the border illegally. The world is waiting to see how Michael Vick's will help the Eagles this season. He played his first game Thursday night on Lincoln Field during the Eagles 33-32 win, only participating in six plays. While Vick was making his debut, Arris Pitmon was hijacking a bus full of teenage kids in Atlanta. Naked, Pitmon ran towards the bus and climbed into an open window. He took control of the wheel, and shortly after abandoned the wheel, leading the bus to crash. Students fled, but a few were taken to the hospital. On a happier note, the Commerce Department reported this morning consumer spending rose 0.2% in July, partially lifted by the government's "cash-for-clunkers" program.
