In 2006 Brandon Hines started working with Troy Taylor, CEO of Songbook Entertainment, in which Trey Songz is signed to. Trey Songz and Brandon recorded a few songs together, and Trey Songz became a mentor to Brandon Hines. They currently still have a working relationship, and Songz still serves as mentor to Brandon Hines.
In case you don't know Brandon Hines, he is an independent artist from Detroit. He has not only recorded with Trey Songz, but with artists/songwriter Ryan Leslie. He was a guest on MTV's Total Request Live for being a top Myspace artist with over 1 million Myspace hits. Hines is also known for doing outstanding Youtube covers of Maxwell's "Pretty Wings", Usher's "Moving Mountains", and Lauryn Hill's "X-Factor". At age 16, Hines made it to Hollywood on the hit TV show "American Idol". And while attending Howard University, he dropped his first independent album, "Love Music: Falling In and Falling Out".

@daily: Is it true that he is gay? Or is it true that they were in a relationship? Neither are confirmed...but I know the relationship they actual had was a working relationship. Not a fan of gossip sites.
